Title: .Net Developer with SDWIS Experience (ONLY W2)

Location: 100% REMOTE
Position Summary
The Systems Software Programmer Advanced will perform independent analysis, design, implementation, modification, and maintenance of software systems. This role supports federal data transmissions, leads data migration and software implementation efforts, and provides mentorship to junior team members. The position supports systems including SDWIS, WQX, SWIFT, and DW-SFTIES and participates in cross-functional collaboration to support internal and external stakeholders.
Project Overview
This role supports the Application Development team and is focused on migrating applications and data from former infrastructure to current systems. Staff augmentation is required to support this major ongoing migration project.
Key Responsibilities
Software Development and Support
- Design, implement, support, and maintain software applications
- Perform manual and automated testing
- Troubleshoot and debug application issues
- Resolve service desk tickets by working directly with users
Collaboration
- Work with developers, customers, business analysts, and stakeholders
- Gather and refine functional and non-functional requirements
- Participate in code reviews
- Mentor other developers
Migration Support
- Identify data flows and system dependencies
- Support application modifications and deployment processes
Documentation and Continuity
- Maintain system documentation
- Prepare disaster recovery and data recovery documentation
- Provide project communication and administrative documentation
Data Security and Integrity
- Follow application development and security standards
- Protect sensitive customer data
Additional Duties
- Perform other assigned duties as required
Required Skills (Must Have)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
(Relevant experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis) - 8 years of experience working on government IT projects as a software developer, software engineer, or related role
- 8 years of experience building and optimizing SQL statements and stored procedures
- 3 years of experience supporting Water Quality/Safety Information Systems
- Working knowledge of:
