About the Role
This is a high-intensity program communications role, supporting a large-scale S/4HANA transformation across the North America region for a global enterprise. This is not a corporate communications role.
The Communications Lead will be embedded in the transformation program and accountable for driving a clear, consistent, and business-relevant communications cadence that translates complex IT system and program activity into messaging senior stakeholders and impacted users can understand and act on.
The successful candidate must be able to hit the ground running, operate with ambiguity, and deliver at pace with minimal onboarding or hand-holding.
Key Responsibilities
Own and drive the NA S4 program communications agenda
Lead development and management of the NA S4 intranet site
Create and deliver high-quality content across multiple formats, including:
Written communications
Executive updates and talking points
PDFs and leadership decks
Video content (where appropriate)
Translate technical and program progress into business-relevant, value-based messaging
Measure and monitor the effectiveness of communications strategies and continuously refine approach
Partner closely with Change Management and Corporate Communications teams to support broader change initiatives
Repurpose content efficiently across multiple channels to maintain a consistent and frequent communications cadence
First-Month Expectations
This role suits someone who thrives in complex programs and enjoys being close to the action rather than operating at arm’s length.
Within the first month, the Communications Lead is expected to:
Rapidly immerse into the existing communications strategy and plan
Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders and Corporate Communications partners
Identify and deliver quick wins, including:
Integrated messaging that connects business context, program progress, and value realization
Improved reuse and consistency of content across channels (intranet, leadership decks, PDFs, executive forums)
Re-establish a clear, consistent, and visible communications cadence that stakeholders can feel and rely on
Required Skills & Capabilities
Proven experience building and executing communications strategies and content
Must have experience in ERP or large-scale technology implementation experience
SAP S/4HANA experience is ideal, but candidates with comparable program experience will be considered (e.g. Oracle Cloud Financials, Workday, Coupa, M365 rollouts
Strong organizational and program management skills
Ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders
Deep understanding of audience segmentation and engagement best practices
Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or similar complex industries is strongly preferred
Hands-on experience with tools such as:
SharePoint
O365
SAP environments
Education
Bachelor’s degree required
