Senior Linux System Administrator/Linux Platform Administrator/RHEL Platform Engineer- Remote

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux Administrator with deep expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise Linux environments. The ideal candidate will play a key role in system architecture, automation, security, performance tuning, and mentoring junior team members while ensuring high availability and reliability of critical systems.

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain RHEL 7/8/9 systems in production environments

• Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting

• Manage user access, permissions, and security policies in compliance with enterprise standards

• Implement and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions

• Automate routine administrative tasks using Shell scripting, Ansible, or similar tools

• Apply system patches, updates, and security hardening following best practices

• Manage filesystems (LVM, XFS), storage, and backup solutions

• Support virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM) and cloud-based Linux environments

• Collaborate with application, database, and network teams to resolve system issues

• Participate in on-call support and incident response activities

• Create and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and architecture diagrams

• Mentor junior administrators and provide technical guidance

• 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Linux Administrator

• Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

• Experience with systemd, SELinux, firewalld, yum/dnf

• Proficiency in Shell scripting (Bash)

• Hands-on experience with Ansible or other configuration management tools

• Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, SSH, FTP)

• Experience with LVM, RAID, multipathing, and storage management

• Knowledge of Linux security best practices and vulnerability remediation

• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills

• RHCSA / RHCE certification

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)

• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift

• Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)

• ITIL or DevOps exposure is a plus
