Job Title: Project Manager Project Lead ( 8999)
Work Location: Columbia, SC 29201
Work Type: 100% Remote (Candidate must be a current SC resident)
Contract Duration: 12 Months

Daily Duties / Responsibilities
Under limited supervision, the Project Manager will manage all tasks associated with one or more small-to-large projects (or components of larger efforts). This is an individual contributor role with no HR management responsibilities.
Key duties include:

Follow established SDLC processes within Medicaid IT Services.
Develop and maintain all project documentation throughout the lifecycle.
Manage initiation, planning, execution, control, and closeout activities for assigned projects.
Coordinate and manage projects using approved project management methodologies.
Develop detailed work plans and maintain project roadmaps.
Control project scope and schedule to meet deliverables, milestones, and deadlines.
Oversee and execute the communication plan.
Prepare status reports and present updates to stakeholders, sponsors, and leadership.
Identify risks and issues; develop and implement mitigation strategies.
Facilitate problem resolution and support decision-making.
Build and foster a collaborative, high-performing project team environment.
Work within Change Management and Release Management structures for system implementations.
Create and maintain dashboards (Power BI or equivalent) for project reporting.
Write process documentation, gather stakeholder feedback, and present findings to senior leadership.
Work beyond 40 hours per week when needed, including possible weekends.

Required Skills

PMP Certification
6+ years of experience as a Project Manager
4+ years of experience with Power BI
3+ years of experience with Mainframe and distributed systems
Strong organizational, analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, Project, Project Web App, Teams
Ability to work effectively in a stressful, fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Adaptability, flexibility, time management, and self-motivation

Preferred Skills

Experience with Healthcare Claims Processing
Experience with Incident and Change Management
Experience with Process Development and Management
