Job Title: Network Architect

Location: DFW Area, Texas

Employment Type: Contract to Hire

Pay Range: $80hr - $ 90/hr

- Role Overview/Job Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Network Architect with deep expertise in Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA), DNA Center, and Cisco ISE to lead the design and implementation of a large-scale network modernization initiative.

The organization is migrating from a legacy 10+ year traditional network environment to a modern Cisco SDA architecture, with DNA Center integrated with ISE for policy-based access and automation. The data center backbone is built on Cisco ACI.

This role is hands-on and architectural-the ideal candidate has multiple years of real-world experience designing and implementing enterprise SDA solutions, not just operations or support.

The environment requires the ability to pass CJIS background screening and work onsite 5 days per week.

- Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design (Primary Focus)

• Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of Cisco SDA fabric.

• Design and deploy Cisco DNA Center for:

  • Network automation

  • Assurance & analytics

  • Policy orchestration

• Architect and implement Cisco ISE for:

  • Identity-based access control

  • 802.1X

  • TrustSec / SGT

  • Network segmentation and zero-trust policies.

• Define migration strategy from legacy network to SDA fabric.

Implementation & Engineering

• Hands-on implementation of:

  • SDA fabric

  • DNA Center clusters

  • ISE nodes and policy sets

• Integrate DNA Center with ISE for policy-based networking.

• Support integration with ACI data center fabric.

• Work closely with infrastructure, security, and operations teams.

Operational & Advisory

• Provide technical leadership and best practices.

• Mentor internal network engineers.

• Create architecture documentation and design diagrams.

• Participate in troubleshooting complex network issues.

- Required Qualifications

Core (Sweet Spot)

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with:

  • Cisco SDA

  • Cisco DNA Center

  • Cisco ISE

• Proven experience in enterprise-level network architecture & design.

• Real-world experience with:

  • SDA fabric deployment

  • ISE policy design

  • Network segmentation

  • Identity-based access control.

Supporting

• Strong understanding of Cisco ACI (integration level).

• Solid background in:

  • Enterprise routing & switching

  • VLANs, BGP, OSPF, multicast

  • Wireless networks (Cisco).

• Experience migrating legacy networks to SDA.

Compliance

• Must be able to pass CJIS background check.

• Must work onsite 5 days/week.
