This is a direct hire opportunity and hybrid to Elk Grove, CA.

Senior Software Architect to lead the modernization and global scaling of our next-generation SaaS platform. This role serves as the organization's chief technical architect, driving the transformation of legacy systems into secure, cloud-native, microservices-based solutions on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).

Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end architecture of SaaS platform and lead modernization from legacy systems to cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
• Set technical direction and standards across front-end, back-end, integration, and data platform ecosystems (Angular, React, Java, Google Cloud Platform).
• Evaluate and recommend frameworks, tools, and cloud services to maximize scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Lead migration and re-architecture efforts using Google Cloud Platform managed services (GKE, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, Apigee, BigQuery, etc.).
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and containerization strategies using Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab/Jenkins/ArgoCD.
• Embed security and privacy by design, including encryption, access controls, audit logging, and incident response planning.
• Ensure compliance with global privacy regulations (GDPR, LGPD) and internal security standards.
• Champion modern engineering practices such as Agile, DevOps, and test-driven development.
• Conduct code and design reviews and provide architectural oversight for complex initiatives.
• Architect solutions for multi-region deployment, high availability, disaster recovery, and global data residency.
• Prepare the platform for internationalization, localization, and region-specific compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software architecture experience, with a strong focus on enterprise-scale SaaS platforms.
• Proven success leading cloud-native transformations, ideally on Google Cloud Platform (AWS/Azure experience also valued).
• Strong front-end expertise: Angular, React, TypeScript/JavaScript, component libraries, responsive SPA design.
• Strong back-end expertise: Java (Spring Boot), Python (Flask/Django), Node.js.
• Deep experience with relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Expertise in microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
• Mastery of Angular, React, Java, and Google Cloud Platform data platform services.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes/GKE, and cloud-native data platforms (Cloud SQL, BigQuery).
• Familiarity with infrastructure components such as Akamai, Apigee, GoldenGate.
• Strong background in security, privacy, and compliance for SaaS environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with global SaaS deployments, multi-region architectures, and international compliance.
• Cloud architecture certifications (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure) preferred.
