We are seeking a System Integration Engineer Level 2 who will support our NYS client on the Rent Regulation System Modernization (RRSM) project. This role serves as the State-side Salesforce technical expert, evaluating vendor architecture, security, integrations, and migrations while establishing technical standards and ensuring long-term system supportability. The engineer will also support legacy modernization, data warehousing, and knowledge transfer to State teams.
Duties:
• Serve as the State Salesforce technical expert and architect for RRSM, representing ITS and HCR technical interests in vendor engagements.
• Establish Salesforce coding, configuration, naming, security, and deployment standards for implementation and future State support.
• Review vendor architecture, data models, security, integrations, code, configurations, and deployments; identify defects and technical risks and recommend deliverable acceptance or rejection.
• Validate vendor designs against business requirements, including rent calculation rules and case types.
• Evaluate strategies for large data volumes, indexing, query performance, archiving, and long-term record retention.
• Independently validate legacy-to-Salesforce data migration through mapping, record counts, reconciliation, and data quality checks.
• Review integration with OpenText Content Server, including document and image links, access controls, retention, and preservation of links across legacy and new identifiers.
• Design and execute parallel-run and reconciliation tests comparing Salesforce and legacy outputs for registrations, legal rent calculations, and case processing.
• Work with legacy system staff to document business rules, data structures, and interfaces.
• Design data warehouse models and ETL processes combining Salesforce and legacy data, including feeds to State and City agencies.
• Design master data structures for buildings, apartments, owners, and other parties; validate vendor data-model alignment.
• Analyze existing .NET applications, document replacement requirements, and maintain integrations until application retirement.
• Develop proofs of concept and State-owned components to validate vendor approaches and estimates.
• Mentor and train State developers, define support skills, and involve the State support team in vendor activities.
• Coordinate vendor-to-State transition of source code, environments, access, documentation, and support procedures.
• Participate in vendor sprint reviews and design sessions with business analysts, project managers, and program staff.
Mandatory Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience working on complex projects, including 2+ years in a leadership role as a Systems Integration Engineer (Level II).
• 7+ years of hands-on Salesforce development using Apex, including at least 1 year within the 3 years preceding the Staff Augmentation Tier II submission date.
• 5+ years of experience developing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for an enterprise data warehouse.
Desirable Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience as a client-side technical lead or architect overseeing a vendor or systems integrator Salesforce implementation, including design and code reviews and deliverable validation.
• 5+ years of experience migrating data from legacy or mainframe systems to Salesforce or other modern platforms, including data mapping, cleansing, and reconciliation.
• 3+ years of experience designing Salesforce solutions for large data volumes (more than 10 million records in a single object), including query performance and archiving strategies.
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing master data management solutions, including matching, de-duplication, and survivorship rules.
• 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining Microsoft .NET (C# or VB.NET) applications, including ASP.NET web applications.
• 3+ years of experience integrating Salesforce or other enterprise applications with enterprise content management systems such as OpenText Content Server, OpenText Extended ECM, Documentum, FileNet, or SharePoint.
