About this JobThis position serves as office manager in the District Laboratory and performs specialized duties such as data entry, initial accuracy review and processing of engineering documents, forms, reports, and field notes. The position will also serve as assistant to the District Laboratory Engineer by being responsible for complete laboratory records and documentation management with both administrative and clerical duties.

Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
- Reviews and approves Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) mix designs by verifying approved material sources, plant certifications, scale reports, and mix volumetrics to ensure compliance with LADOTD specifications; performs combined gradation calculations and quality control reviews of coworkers' calculations.
- Serves as the primary payroll timekeeper and administrator for the District 04 Laboratory and Design Section by processing weekly payroll, maintaining employee leave records, monitoring leave balances, submitting supply requisitions, coordinating vehicle maintenance, and ensuring accurate mileage reporting.
- Provides administrative support to the District Construction Coordinator by preparing correspondence, reports, and documentation; distributes testing records, instructs laboratory and field personnel on documentation procedures, and ensures the accuracy and completeness of project records.
- Conducts initial reviews of Quality Assurance project materials audits, researches and resolves discrepancies with project personnel, and submits completed audits within established deadlines to support timely contractor payments and compliance with departmental policies.
- Researches and provides technical information to department personnel, contractors, and material suppliers; compiles required testing and sampling reports, maintains safety compliance documentation, and supports emergency operations and other duties as assigned.

Compensation: - Engineering Technician 1 - The starting salary is $14.00/hourly with an additional $2.00 optional pay for every hour worked.
- Engineering Technician 2 - Starting salary is $16.03/hourly with an additional $2.00 optional pay for every hour worked.
- Engineering Technician 3 - Starting salary is $18.35/hourly with an additional $2.00 optional pay for every hour worked.
- Engineering Technician 4 - Starting salary is $21.00/hourly with an additional $2.00 optional pay for every hour worked.
