Description
We are looking for a Telecommunications Specialist to join a service-focused team in Florida on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent role. This position supports the development and improvement of electronic and telecommunications-related systems through design work, testing, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to complex engineering initiatives while helping ensure products are reliable, well-documented, and ready for manufacturing and operational use.
Responsibilities:
Develop and evaluate electronic circuits, assemblies, and power solutions through design, simulation, prototyping, and test activities.
Partner with engineering teams to refine subsystem and system designs, incorporating updates that support development goals and product performance.
Produce schematics and contribute technical guidance for board layout, routing, and integration of subassemblies.
Perform engineering analysis using simulation tools and calculations to validate designs and address technical challenges.
Create and maintain clear technical documentation to support engineering, manufacturing, and ongoing product lifecycle needs.
Lead or assist with laboratory testing, troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and risk assessments to improve product quality and reliability.
Resolve product and process issues by recommending design improvements, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and assessing impact to schedules and budgets.
Maintain accurate engineering records, including bills of materials and component obsolescence tracking for development and production items.
Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers by presenting technical information, supporting proposals, and contributing to project execution.
Provide guidance, training, and day-to-day technical support to engineers, technicians, and manufacturing personnel as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.
At least 4 years of experience in electronic design, modeling, simulation, analysis, and hands-on testing of assemblies or systems.
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Working knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, including filtering, interfacing, programmable logic, and low-power applications.
Experience with power supply design, peripheral integration, and implementation of communication interfaces such as I2C, Ethernet, and similar protocols.
Proficiency with simulation and computational tools such as LTSpice or comparable platforms, as well as standard technical documentation practices.
Familiarity with microcontrollers, DSPs, FPGAs, design validation, board bring-up, and laboratory test methods.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and technical presentations.
