Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a Principal Customer Solutions Architect - AI Infrastructure to join our Field & Pre-Sales organization to serve as the technical lead across both customer acquisition and deployment delivery. This role partners closely with Sales, Engineering, Deployment, Product, and Customer Success teams to design and deliver large-scale AI infrastructure solutions for hyperscalers , NeoCloud operators, enterprise AI customers, and HPC organizations.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in AI/ML infrastructure, networking, data center architecture, and customer-facing solution delivery. This individual will lead technical discovery, architect customer-specific infrastructure solutions, support deployment execution, and maintain long-term technical customer relationships. LOCATION & WORK ARRANGEMENT
This role is designated as remote; however, candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to the Atlanta, GA area. Regular onsite presence in Atlanta will be required based on business needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with Sales leadership on customer engagements from initial discovery through contract execution as the primary technical authority.
- Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer GPU requirements, workload characteristics, network architecture, latency requirements, security posture, and growth projections.
- Design customer-specific AI infrastructure solutions including rack layouts, cooling systems, power allocation strategies, network topology, and BESS dispatch configurations.
- Develop technical proposal materials including architecture diagrams, bill of materials (BoM) extracts, SLA frameworks, technical RFP responses, and customer questionnaires.
- Conduct technical deep-dive sessions with customer engineering teams including networking, security, operations, and infrastructure architecture stakeholders.
- Translate signed customer agreements into deployment scopes and coordinate with Deployment & Program Management teams to ensure successful execution.
- Serve as the primary post-sales technical contact throughout deployment, commissioning, onboarding, and first-year operational support.
- Coordinate cross-functional technical escalations and provide leadership across facility, network, platform, and operations teams to resolve customer issues.
- Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with customer technical leadership focused on optimization, expansion planning, and infrastructure roadmaps.
- Build scalable operational playbooks, onboarding documentation, and technical standards to support organizational growth and customer success operations.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to influence EMS platform capabilities, integrations, and future roadmap priorities based on customer feedback.
- Support vendor evaluations and technical partnerships across cooling, networking, storage, and infrastructure technologies.
- Mentor junior Solutions Architects and help establish scalable architectural methodologies and customer engagement standards.
- Represent the organization externally at NVIDIA partner events, customer advisory boards, industry conferences, and AI infrastructure working groups.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles within data center, cloud, networking, telecommunications, or AI infrastructure industries.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales Engineer, Field CTO, or related technical consulting role.
- Direct experience designing and deploying AI/ML infrastructure solutions at scale, including at least one deployment exceeding 1 MW or 500+ GPUs personally architected.
- Strong hands-on experience with NVIDIA reference architectures including DGX, HGX, NVL72, DSX, Spectrum-X, and InfiniBand technologies.
- Advanced expertise in IP networking and data center networking technologies including :
- BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS
- Spine-leaf, Clos, and fat-tree network topologies
- RDMA, RoCEv2, InfiniBand, and lossless Ethernet technologies
- Carrier integration, cross-connects, peering, and transport optimization
- Network security, segmentation, and zero-trust architectures
- DWDM, dark fiber, and latency-sensitive transport infrastructure
- Working knowledge of data center power and cooling systems including redundancy models (N+1, 2N, 2N+1), UPS architectures, direct-to-chip liquid cooling, CDU/manifold systems, and BESS fundamentals.
- Experience supporting hyperscalers , NeoCloud operators, enterprise AI customers, or HPC/research organizations.
- Proven track record transitioning customer solutions from pre-sales architecture into successful deployment and operational delivery.
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage technical and business stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering , Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to travel up to 30-40%, depending on business needs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working at a major data center operator, colocation provider, hyperscaler , or telecommunications organization.
- Prior engineering or operational infrastructure background before transitioning into customer-facing architecture roles.
- Experience with DCIM and EMS platforms such as Ignition (Inductive Automation), Schneider EcoStruxure , or Vertiv Trellis.
- Familiarity with NVIDIA GPU offerings and AI factory infrastructure standards.
- Telecommunications or carrier networking background with Tier-1 ISP or service provider experience.
- Working knowledge of utility tariff structures, demand charges, and grid services programs within ISO-NE, PJM, ERCOT, or CAISO markets.
- NVIDIA Certified Associate or NVIDIA Certified Professional certification.
- CCIE (Routing & Switching, Data Center, or Service Provider), Juniper JNCIE, or equivalent networking certification.
- Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) or Accredited Operations Specialist (AOS) certification.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Solar Industry experience (Renewable).
- Experience in fast-paced, high-growth, or formation-stage business environments.
