Software Engineer

Description

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join a transport-focused team on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent role. In this role, you will contribute to the development of business applications and software solutions that support operational performance and day-to-day efficiency. The position offers the opportunity to work across application development, system integration, testing, and process automation while partnering closely with senior developers and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
Contribute to the design and development of software applications and business tools that support operational and internal business needs.
Build, enhance, and maintain existing and new applications by updating functionality, refining logic, and adapting code for changing use cases.
Produce organized, efficient, and maintainable code with clear documentation and alignment to established development standards.
Assist with application configuration, technical solution evaluation, and feature updates to address evolving business requirements.
Execute structured testing, troubleshoot defects, and resolve issues found in both development and production environments.
Record software problems, confirm corrective actions, and verify resolutions through repeatable validation processes.
Monitor application and system behavior to help maintain dependable performance across internal and external platforms.
Support UI and UX improvements by helping design, test, and refine user-facing features for better usability and overall experience.
Participate in integrations between internal systems and third-party platforms, including automation and workflow solutions built with Power Apps, Power Automate, and related Power Platform tools.
Maintain technical documentation, track change requests, and provide regular progress updates while collaborating with senior engineering team members.

Requirements

Experience working with C# and the .NET framework in software development environments.
Knowledge of ASP.NET for building and supporting web-based applications.
Proficiency in JavaScript for front-end functionality and interactive application features.
Familiarity with React.js for developing modern user interfaces.
Understanding of software testing, debugging, and issue resolution practices across multiple environments.
Ability to document technical work clearly and communicate progress effectively with team members and leadership.
Exposure to application integrations, workflow automation, or business process improvement initiatives.
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with senior developers and cross-functional stakeholders.
