Description
The Project Manager leads complex, cross-functional initiatives that drive strategic business outcomes across Mansfield. The Project Manager partners with business leaders, product teams, technology teams, vendors, and operational stakeholders to deliver projects from initiation through implementation, adoption, and stabilization.
This role is accountable for project planning, governance, stakeholder alignment, risk and dependency management, organizational readiness, and value realization. The Project Manager ensures projects are delivered according to agreed objectives, scope, schedules, budgets, and expected business outcomes. Success is measured through delivery performance, stakeholder alignment, organizational adoption, and effective management of risks, dependencies, and resources.
Responsibilities
Project Leadership and Execution
· Lead complex, cross-functional projects involving multiple departments, systems, vendors, and business stakeholders.
· Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, workstreams, and delivery roadmaps.
· Translate business objectives into executable plans with clear scope, outcomes, ownership, and success measures.
· Coordinate project activities across business, operations, product, technology, data, integrations, and third-party teams.
· Drive execution, resolve obstacles, and ensure project work remains aligned with strategic priorities and expected outcomes.
Stakeholder Management and Governance
· Partner with executive sponsors, business leaders, product teams, and subject matter experts to establish project objectives, governance, and decision rights.
· Establish and facilitate project governance meetings, steering committees, decision forums, and status reviews.
· Prepare clear executive-level presentations and communicate project status, decisions, risks, issues, dependencies, and trade-offs.
· Build alignment across stakeholder groups when priorities, expectations, or resource constraints compete.
· Ensure governance processes, approvals, and escalation paths are understood and followed.
Risk, Issue, and Dependency Management
· Identify, document, monitor, and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, decisions, and dependencies.
· Create mitigation and contingency plans and take corrective action when delivery deviates from agreed tolerances.
· Coordinate interdependent activities across workstreams, teams, systems, and vendors.
· Anticipate downstream impacts of project decisions and proactively address risks to delivery, adoption, and business operations.
· Escalate critical issues with clear options, recommendations, and required decisions.
Business Process and Organizational Readiness
· Partner with business stakeholders to document current-state and future-state processes and define operational impacts.
· Support process redesign associated with business transformation and enterprise system initiatives.
· Develop and coordinate communication, training, change management, and readiness plans.
· Validate that teams, processes, data, support models, and controls are prepared for implementation.
· Coordinate implementation, post-launch stabilization, and transition to ongoing operational ownership.
Financial, Resource, and Outcome Management
· Assist in developing business cases, funding requests, project estimates, and expected benefit measures.
· Plan and monitor project budgets, costs, resource needs, capacity, and vendor commitments.
· Negotiate for resources based on required skills, availability, and project priorities.
· Track progress against expected business outcomes, benefits, and adoption measures.
· Provide transparency into financial performance, resource constraints, and impacts to delivery commitments.
Vendor and Third-Party Coordination
· Coordinate external vendors, implementation partners, and consultants supporting project delivery.
· Align vendor plans and deliverables with internal workstreams, dependencies, milestones, and acceptance criteria.
· Track vendor commitments, risks, decisions, and escalations and facilitate timely resolution between internal and external teams.
Agile and Hybrid Delivery Support
· Apply predictive, Agile, or hybrid delivery approaches based on the needs of the project.
· Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and delivery teams to support planning, prioritization, execution, and release readiness.
· Facilitate delivery ceremonies when appropriate and remove obstacles that affect project outcomes.
· Use delivery metrics and project reporting to identify trends, improve predictability, and support decision-making.
Continuous Improvement
· Identify opportunities to improve project governance, delivery practices, templates, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
· Develop business insights from project results and communicate recommendations that support data-informed decisions.
· Accept ownership for new and evolving requests that add value to project delivery and organizational performance.
Position Requirements
Formal Education and Certification
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification completed or in progress preferred.
· Agile, Scrum, or change management certification preferred.
Knowledge and Experience
· Minimum of 5 years of project management experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
· Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple workstreams, business functions, systems, and external partners.
· Experience with business transformation, enterprise systems, workflow automation, customer operations, case management, or similar operational initiatives preferred.
· Experience with project governance, executive reporting, organizational readiness, vendor coordination, and post-launch stabilization.
· Proficiency with Smartsheet or an equivalent project management tool and Microsoft 365.
