Location: Remote - open to all US locations. Must be willing to support EST time zone.

Overview

The IT Project Coordinator is a key member supporting our IT Project Management Office, working closely with the Corning businesses, developers, data scientists, analysts and domain experts to deploy IT solutions to meet customer requirements. Your work is crucial to our global digital transformation efforts because it helps deliver high-quality solutions that create value for Corning. The successful candidate will be responsible for their own project tasks while leveraging agile practices where possible. Interaction with cross functional teams, collaboration, communication, and attention to detail will be critical.

Agile practice knowledge is crucial to this role, including working as part of a multi-functional agile team, contributing to project plans, managing the quality governance and testing process(es) within the project.

Responsibilities

As an IT Project Coordinator, the primary responsibilities are to support the Project Manager and coordinate project quality and testing activities. This includes understanding project goals, deadlines, priorities, preparing presentations, maintaining project documentation, and providing general coordination and administrative support, including meeting scheduling as needed.

·         Report to the IT Digital Excellence Office (DEO), with a dotted-line relationship to the assigned IT Project Manager.

·         Support the Project Manager, who retains overall accountability for project delivery and outcomes.

·         Assist Project Managers with development and maintenance of project quality plans, schedules, test status reporting, and stagegate presentations.

·         Monitor and report cross-project dependencies, risks, issues, and impacts.

·         Maintain the project document repository and ensure key project information, artifacts, and approvals remain current and accessible for compliant with regulatory requirements.

·         Coordinate project quality and testing activities across vendor partners, functional teams, technical teams and business representatives

Quality, SDLC, and Compliance

·         Act as the SDLC and QA Subject Matter Expert for assigned projects, supporting both Agile and traditional project delivery methodologies.

·         Lead quality planning and coordination for project/product initiatives, ensuring QA activities, acceptance criteria, test requirements, quality checkpoints, control checkpoints and release readiness activities are incorporated throughout the Agile delivery lifecycle.

·         Own and maintain SDLC and QA deliverables, including SDLC/Quality Plans, quality documentation, facilitate required peer review meetings, quality metrics, testing evidence, test reporting and required approvals throughout the project lifecycle.

·         Ensure all QA-owned deliverables are completed accurately, completely, on time, and in accordance with established SDLC, QA, and Agile delivery standards.

·         Apply working knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements, including regulatory (like SOX) controls, as applicable to IT systems, applications, changes, and project activities.

·         Manage and ensure adherence to regulatory, SDLC, and QA requirements throughout the full lifecycle of applicable projects.

·         Ensure project documentation, quality artifacts, test evidence, control evidence, traceability, and required approvals are maintained in the designated repository and remain audit-ready.

·         Coordinate with Agile team members—including Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, developers, testers, vendor resources and business stakeholders—to ensure quality requirements are understood and consistently applied.

·         Capture, analyze, and report quality metrics, test status, risks, issues, compliance status, and audit-readiness status to project and leadership stakeholders.

·         Escalate quality, compliance, SOX control, audit-readiness, and SDLC risks to the appropriate Project Manager, process owners, and leadership stakeholders when required.

·         Lead and facilitate quality inspections and reviews of key project documentation, Agile delivery artifacts, testing evidence, release-readiness materials, and required approval records.

Testing and Defect Management

·         Lead and manage end-to-end testing activities, including system testing, integration testing, regression testing, performance testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

·         Able to create a Test Approach documentation for both Agile and traditional projects to meet requirements.

·         Define testing scope, strategy, test cycles, timelines, entry and exit criteria, and success metrics in partnership with functional and technical owners.

·         Develop and maintain Test Plans, Test Approaches, test schedules, and appropriate success metrics for each testing cycle.

·         Ensure test environments, testing tools, test data, and access are prepared and ready before test execution begins.

·         Facilitate and provide guidance to project and business resources for test scenario and test script development.

·         Facilitate and lead the Test kick-off  and daily defect review meetings.

·         Manage the defect lifecycle, including defect intake, triage, prioritization, tracking, reporting, retesting, closure, and stakeholder communication during active test phases.

·         Collaborate with functional, technical, vendor, and business teams to analyze defects, identify root cause, and determine the appropriate resolution path.

·         Manage and communicate the impact of project changes on testing scope, schedule, quality, and test execution activities.

·         Report quality and testing status, metrics, defect trends, risks, and readiness assessments throughout the project lifecycle.

·         Performance Testing / LoadRunner

·         Facilitate performance testing discovery sessions to identify performance, scalability, capacity, and load-testing requirements for assigned projects.

·         Develop performance test strategies, scenarios, workload models, and execution plans in coordination with business, functional, infrastructure, and technical teams.

·         Demonstrate hands-on experience with Open Text LoadRunner, including Virtual User Generator scripting, parameterization, correlation, test scenario configuration, execution, monitoring, and test results analysis.

·         Create, maintain, and execute LoadRunner performance and load test scripts for relevant applications, interfaces, and business processes.

·         Coordinate performance test environment readiness, test data preparation, monitoring requirements, and stakeholder participation.

·         Analyze performance test results, identify bottlenecks and risks, document findings, and coordinate remediation and retesting with the appropriate technical teams.

·         Provide clear performance testing status, results, recommendations, and risk escalations to project teams and IT leadership.

Education, Experience, and Licensing:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, IS, or equivalent area of technical study. (minimum required)

• Certification in project management methodologies is desired, but not required.

• Certification in agile methodologies is desired, but not required.

** • A minimum of 5-10+ years working as an IT project team member. Quality Analyst experience preferred.

** • Performance Test Management application experience - OpenText Load Runner Cloud and VU Generator scripting tool experience.

**• Experience of using Planview Tools (Agileplace, Projectplace and Portfolio).

• Power BI Report Creation - desired but other platforms may be required.

• Knowledge of Planview, Gitlab, Confluence and other associated Agile tools.

• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements, including SOX and other applicable regulations.

• Knowledge and experience applying automated testing tools and processes.

• Introductory Scrum or Agile Certifications/Training

• Knowledge of using AI tools and agents.
