IT Project Manager – EHR Implementation

Location: Harrisburg, PA – Hybrid (2 days onsite/week)

Job Summary

The State of Pennsylvania is looking for a Senior IT Project Manager to lead the implementation of a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system across multiple health centers and clinical programs. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in EHR/EMR, Health IT, Health Informatics, and large-scale IT project management.

Required Skills

7–9+ years of IT Project Management experience.
Active PMP certification from PMI for at least 5 years.
Hands-on experience implementing a new EHR/EMR system, especially transitioning from paper-based charting to an electronic system.
Experience leading large-scale EHR implementation projects from planning through deployment and operations.
Strong knowledge of Health IT, Health Informatics, and EHR/EMR systems.
Experience managing technical teams, vendors, budgets, schedules, risks, and project deliverables.
Experience with project planning, governance, testing, implementation, and project reporting.
Strong experience with organizational change management (OCM).
Ability to manage multiple IT teams and stakeholders across different areas.
Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with risk and issue management, RAID logs, and mitigation strategies.
Must currently reside in Pennsylvania.
Must be able to work onsite in Harrisburg, PA, 2 days per week.
Must be available for occasional onsite meetings at State Health Centers.

Nice to Have

Experience working with public health programs.
Experience with Commonwealth/State Government projects.
Experience with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
Experience working with healthcare IT vendors and clinical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the complete lifecycle of the EHR implementation project.
Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and milestones.
Coordinate IT teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and clinical teams.
Monitor project progress and take corrective action when needed.
Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and changes.
Coordinate system testing, training, and implementation activities.
Prepare weekly status reports and project metrics for leadership.
Facilitate stakeholder meetings and provide regular updates to senior management.
Ensure the project meets business, technical, quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
Support the transition from EHR implementation to ongoing operations and maintenance.
