Once the integration plans are established and the sites have been assessed, travel is expected to decrease significantly to minor travel, if any at all.

Job Description:
Seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager to lead complex hospital and health system merger & acquisition (M&A) integration initiatives. This is a strategic, enterprise-level leadership role focused on standing up and managing a structured integration program for newly acquired hospitals and health systems. This role requires an individual who can operate at a Director level, providing program leadership across multiple integration workstreams while partnering closely with executive leadership. The Program Manager will establish governance structures, integration best practices, and program management processes, effectively creating and leading a mini-PMO dedicated to M&A integration activities.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record leading hospital or health system mergers, acquisitions, and post-acquisition integrations, with experience coordinating complex initiatives spanning IT, clinical operations, finance, revenue cycle, and administrative functions. Success in this role requires exceptional executive presence, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to create structure within fast-moving and highly visible integration environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide hospital and health system acquisition integration programs from planning through execution.
- Establish and manage a program governance framework, including steering committees, executive reporting, decision management, risk management, and escalation processes.
- Stand up and lead a dedicated integration PMO structure to support M&A activities and ongoing acquisition initiatives.
- Develop and maintain the integrated master plan across all workstreams, ensuring alignment of milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables.
- Provide oversight and direction to Project Managers and workstream leads responsible for individual integration areas.
- Coordinate integration activities across IT, clinical operations, revenue cycle, finance, supply chain, compliance, and other functional areas.
- Partner with executive leadership to drive strategic decisions, remove roadblocks, and ensure integration objectives are achieved.
- Facilitate executive planning sessions, integration workshops, and governance meetings with senior stakeholders.
- Create executive-level communications, dashboards, and status reporting that provide visibility into overall program health.
- Identify integration risks and challenges early while driving mitigation and resolution strategies.
- Build credibility and strong working relationships across acquired organizations and internal leadership teams.
- Establish repeatable integration methodologies, best practices, and operating models to support future acquisition initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressively responsible program and project management experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading hospital or health system mergers, acquisitions, and post-acquisition integration programs.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale, highly complex initiatives involving multiple functional workstreams and stakeholder groups.
- Experience developing and managing integrated master plans across enterprise programs.
- Ability to operate effectively at a Director level, influencing executive leadership and senior stakeholders.
- Strong experience establishing governance structures, PMO frameworks, and program management best practices.
- Track record of successfully managing cross-functional teams and coordinating multiple Project Managers and workstream leaders.
- Deep understanding of hospital and health system operations, including clinical, operational, financial, and technology functions.
- Excellent executive communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, risk management, and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading integrations within large health systems, academic medical centers, or multi-hospital organizations.
- Familiarity with Epic and other healthcare technology platforms commonly involved in integration initiatives.
- Experience creating or leading M&A integration management offices (IMOs) or PMOs.
- PMP, PgMP, MBA, or other relevant certifications.
- Background supporting organizations through multiple acquisition and integration events.
