The Senior Accountant, Contributed Revenue performs complex professional accounting work, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of all contributed revenue and related accounts. Responsible for the preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of contributed revenue, as well as the administration and optimization of the Raiser''s Edge system to support accurate financial tracking and reporting.
Provide critical financial oversight and support for grant accounting, including billing, tracking, reporting, and compliance with donor and regulatory requirements. Manages individual endowment fund accounting, supports investment reporting, and ensures accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
Additional responsibilities include contributing to the annual audit, supporting the preparation of Form 990, and producing association-level financial reports. The Senior Accountant plays a key role in strengthening processes, ensuring compliance, and enhancing the transparency and reliability of financial information to support organizational decision-making.
Essential Functions:- Provide comprehensive fiscal knowledge, accounting support, financial reporting, and technical assistance to branches, departments and/or programs.
- Provide the accounting administration for the Raiser''s Edge contributed revenue system, including account coding of all transactions, reconciliation of all financial data and appropriately posting all financial transactions to the General Ledger.
- Prepare and distribute monthly grant billings, ensure proper recording to the General Ledger, navigate government billing systems and provide administrative support to internal and external partners.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare corresponding audit schedules.
- Support preparation of the IRS990 tax return and association level reporting.
- Track and reconcile individual endowment funds, temporarily restricted funds and other annuity and investment accounts.
- Assist with grant-related desk audits, site monitoring visits, subrecipient monitoring, inquiries and projects as assigned.
Relationships:This position reports to the Accounting Manager of Investment and Capital who reports to the Associate Vice President of Accounting. The incumbent provides the Association with finance/accounting support and interacts regularly with Branch Executives, Program Directors and other Association Staff.
- Qualifications:
Required - Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, or related field; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of four (4) years accounting experience.
- Demonstrated and current understanding of accounting principles, methods, and applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills along with attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient user of the Microsoft Office suite and spreadsheet preparation.
Preferred - Experience with Microsoft Great Plains and Raiser''s Edge software.
- Experience with improving and streamlining business practices.
