Role Overview
Looking for a Senior BI Engineer with strong Tableau experience who can design and develop enterprise-level dashboards, reporting solutions, and KPI frameworks.
The person should be highly hands-on with Tableau, SQL, Snowflake, Tableau Prep, advanced calculations, LOD expressions, and dashboard performance tuning.
They will work closely with Data Architects, Data Modelers, and Data Engineers to turn curated data into business reports and dashboards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tableau Dashboard Development

Build and maintain enterprise-level Tableau dashboards and reports.

Design executive dashboards, scorecards, and business reporting solutions.

Create reusable Tableau data sources, extracts, and semantic layers.
-
Use advanced Tableau features such as:

LOD Expressions
-
Parameters
-
Sets
-
Calculated Fields
-
Advanced Calculations
-
Use Tableau Prep for data preparation and transformation.
-
Work with Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Cloud.
2. Data & Analytics
-
Convert business requirements into scalable BI and reporting solutions.
-
Work with Snowflake and SQL to access and analyze data.
-
Work with curated Gold-layer datasets from the data engineering team.
-
Understand dimensional modeling and data warehouse concepts.
-
Work within a Bronze → Silver → Gold / Medallion Architecture environment.
-
Define and standardize KPIs, business metrics, and reporting definitions.
3. Performance & Security

Optimize Tableau dashboards for better performance and load time.
-
Tune SQL queries and Snowflake data access.
-
Implement Row-Level Security (RLS).
-
Manage governed access to dashboards and data.
-
Troubleshoot slow dashboards and inefficient queries.
4. Data Quality & Reporting
-
Perform data validation before reports are released.
-
Reconcile Tableau reports against source/warehouse data.
-
Help establish report certification and data quality processes.
-
Ensure dashboards provide accurate and consistent business metrics.
5. Leadership & Collaboration
-
Establish Tableau development standards and best practices.
-
Mentor junior BI/ Tableau developers.
-
Work with Data Architects, Data Modelers, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders.
