As a Senior Snowflake Platform Engineer, you will design, secure, automate, operate, and optimize enterprise Snowflake environments across Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
You will partner with Data Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, Information Security & Risk, and FinOps teams to deliver a secure, resilient, scalable, and cost-efficient Snowflake platform for enterprise analytics and data workloads.
Core Responsibilities
Snowflake Platform Engineering: Design, configure, operate, and govern Snowflake environments across Google Cloud Platform and AWS, including accounts, databases, schemas, virtual warehouses, resource monitors, and cloud storage integrations.
Security & Compliance: Implement RBAC, SSO, service authentication, encryption, masking policies, secrets management, audit controls, and private network connectivity in partnership with Information Security & Risk.
Infrastructure as Code & CICD: Automate Snowflake provisioning and lifecycle management using Terraform, Git, and CICD platforms such as GitHub Actions, Google Cloud Platform Cloud Build, Harness, or equivalent tooling.
Performance & FinOps: Monitor and optimize query performance, warehouse sizing and scaling, resource utilization, clustering where appropriate, credit consumption, and storage costs.
Reliability & Operations: Implement monitoring, alerting, operational runbooks, incident management, capacity management, backuprecovery, and disaster recovery practices for production Snowflake environments.
Platform Standards & Enablement: Develop reusable Terraform modules, automation, security guardrails, deployment standards, documentation, and self-service capabilities for data engineering and analytics teams.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, or software engineering, including 3+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience.
Strong knowledge of Snowflake administration, architecture, security, workload management, performance optimization, and cost management.
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform andor AWS, including IAM, networking, private connectivity, security, and cloud storage.
Advanced proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
Experience implementing CICD and Git-based deployment workflows.
Strong SQL skills for performance analysis and troubleshooting.
Scripting experience with Python andor Bash.
Experience supporting production platforms, including monitoring, incident response, reliability, and operational automation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating Snowflake environments across both Google Cloud Platform and AWS.
Experience with enterprise security, governance, compliance, and FinOps practices.
Experience building reusable platform automation and self-service capabilities.
Experience in a regulated enterprise environment such as healthcare or financial services.
