Role Overview
We are seeking Forward Deployed Automation Developers to join a Finance Innovation Hub, operating at the intersection of AI engineering and Finance transformation. This role involves working directly with Finance teams to take full ownership of automation projects, from initial scoping through to production deployment. The focus is on creating practical, auditable systems that are integrated into daily operations, particularly during critical month-end and quarter-end close processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end delivery of AI-enabled solutions, including design, building, testing, iteration, and deployment.
- Translate business needs into technical solutions by understanding Finance requirements and architecting implementations.
- Implement governance from the start, including guardrails, fallback behaviors, and human-in-the-loop logic to meet enterprise control and audit requirements.
- Build stable data foundations by identifying and integrating relevant datasets into extensible pipelines.
- Collaborate with internal architects, debug issues with stakeholders, and use field learnings to improve platforms and practices.
- Create thorough documentation for all technical decisions, assumptions, and dependencies to ensure solutions are auditable and maintainable.
- Participate in an on-call rotation during close cycles, which may include after-hours and weekend support, to ensure critical Finance workflows run without disruption.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills:- Strong software engineering skills in Python, SQL, and API development.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML models, LLMs, or intelligent automation frameworks.
- Comfort with modern AI development tools such as agentic frameworks and AI workflow builders.
- Working knowledge of data pipelines and integration patterns.
- Understanding of enterprise controls and audit requirements.
Business & Communication:- Ability to work directly with non-technical Finance stakeholders and translate their needs into architecture.
- Proven track record of breaking down business challenges into structured, repeatable technical solutions.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical tradeoffs, design choices, and risks.
Operational Readiness:- Willingness to participate in the on-call rotation during month-end and quarter-end close periods.
- Proven ability to operate in time-sensitive environments where uptime impacts Finance reporting.
- A reliability mindset with a focus on building supportable systems and taking ownership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Technical Consultant.
- Experience in consulting or with a Big4 firm.
- Domain experience in Finance, Audit, or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with the organization's technology stack.
