Job Description

Seeks a Forward Deployed Automation Engineer who will operate at the intersection of AI engineering and Finance transformation. You will serve as an embedded AI builder within Finance, owning automation projects from scoping through go-live. Success is measured by adopted, auditable production systems that support month-end and quarter-end close.

Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end delivery of AI-enabled solutions from design and build to testing, iteration, and deployment.

  • Translate Finance business needs into technical architectures grounded in enterprise technology stacks.

  • Implement governance from the outset, including guardrails, fallback behaviors, human-in-the-loop logic, and audit-ready documentation.

  • Build stable data foundations and extensible pipelines that integrate relevant datasets for reliable automation.

  • Collaborate with architects and Finance stakeholders to make design decisions, debug issues, and relay field learnings to improve platforms and practices.

  • Document technical decisions, assumptions, and dependencies to ensure solutions are auditable, maintainable, and transferable.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation for month-end and quarter-end close cycles, including after-hours and weekend coverage per plan.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong software engineering skills in Python, SQL, and API development.

  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML models, LLMs, or intelligent automation frameworks.

  • Proficiency with modern AI development tools such as agentic frameworks, AI workflow builders, and coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, n8n, or similar).

  • Working knowledge of data pipelines and integration patterns for reliable data movement across systems.

  • Understanding of enterprise controls and audit requirements with an ability to build compliant, review-ready solutions.

  • Ability to engage directly with non-engineering Finance stakeholders and translate needs into architecture and delivery plans.

  • Demonstrated skill in structuring loosely defined business problems into repeatable technical solutions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication to explain technical tradeoffs, design choices, and risk in clear language.

  • Operational readiness to support time-sensitive close cycles with on-call participation as needed.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Technical Consultant, or similar embedded builder.

  • Consulting or Big 4 background.

  • Domain experience in Finance, Audit, or regulated industries.
