Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Production Artist to join a team in California on a contract-to-permanent basis. This position is focused on execution rather than concept development, making it ideal for someone who excels at preparing accurate, press-ready artwork for packaging and printed materials. The right candidate will bring strong experience in consumer product environments and a solid understanding of specialized print finishes and production standards.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and refine production-ready artwork for packaging and other printed materials with a high level of accuracy and consistency.
Build press-ready files that meet vendor and printer specifications, including proper setup for color, dielines, bleeds, and final output requirements.
Apply practical knowledge of specialty print treatments such as foil stamping, embossing, spot coatings, varnishes, custom inks, lithographic processes, and shrink sleeve applications.
Partner with internal stakeholders to update, version, and release artwork while ensuring all files align with brand and manufacturing standards.
Use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other Adobe Creative Cloud tools to execute revisions, adapt layouts, and finalize assets for production.
Support packaging projects within consumer-focused industries such as food and beverage, toys, or beauty products, ensuring materials are ready for print and launch.
Track project progress and maintain organized files within project management systems when needed to support workflow visibility and timely delivery.
Requirements
Proven experience in a production-focused design or artwork role with an emphasis on packaging and print execution.
Strong working knowledge of print production methods and file preparation for commercial printing environments.
Hands-on experience with specialty packaging finishes and print applications, including foil, embossing, varnish, spot gloss, and related techniques.
Background in a consumer packaged goods setting, preferably within food and beverage, toys, or beauty categories.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Ability to manage detailed work accurately, follow established creative direction, and deliver high-quality files on schedule.
Experience with Blender is a plus.
Familiarity with project management platforms is helpful.
Innovation starts with people.
