Cloud Engineer

Description

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our team in Columbia, Maryland. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing and securing our cloud infrastructure, focusing on Microsoft Azure and related technologies. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of identity and access management, endpoint security, and cloud monitoring tools to ensure the safety and compliance of our systems.

Responsibilities:
Manage and administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including user and group management, conditional access policies, and privileged identity governance.
Configure and oversee Microsoft Intune for device compliance, configuration profiles, and application deployment across various platforms.
Monitor and respond to security incidents using tools such as Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender solutions.
Implement and maintain Zero Trust security principles, ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance standards.
Support hybrid identity environments, including Azure AD Connect and Cloud Sync, ensuring seamless integration.
Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures for security and cloud operations.
Conduct security assessments, remediate vulnerabilities, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with audit teams to support compliance requirements and maintain security controls.
Provide operational troubleshooting and support for endpoint management and cloud security solutions.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience managing Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Sentinel, and Microsoft Defender suite.
Strong understanding of identity management, access control, endpoint security, and cloud security practices.
Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and principles.
Experience in handling security incidents and operational troubleshooting.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Preferred certifications include Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200), or similar.
Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, or other regulatory standards.
