Job Title: Software Engineer (Java/SQL) with Industry Experience (Mandatory) (W2 Only)

Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Onsite first month, then Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Duration: 6–12 Months (Possible Extension)
Visa: Open

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with strong Java and SQL development experience to join a dynamic development team. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining software applications primarily using Java, with occasional use of C#, while interacting with Oracle or other relational databases. The team follows Agile methodology with frequent sprint-based releases.

Candidates must have experience working in industrial or manufacturing-related environments such as material handling, industrial machinery, manufacturing, electronics, automotive, or aerospace & defense.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain applications using Java (primary) and C# (secondary).
Develop and execute SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data.
Work with Oracle or other relational databases.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features within sprint cycles.
Troubleshoot and resolve software defects.
Work independently on assigned modules and ensure timely delivery.

Required Skills

5+ years of software development experience
Strong experience with Java development
C# experience is acceptable
Strong SQL and relational database experience
Experience working with Oracle or similar databases
Experience working in Agile development environments
Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks

Industry Experience (Mandatory)

Candidates must have experience in at least one of the following industries:

Material Handling
Industrial Machinery
Manufacturing
Electronics
Automotive
Aerospace & Defense
