Infrastructure & Identity Systems Engineer
IAM Focus
Spring, TX (Houston area)
50% remote
Full-time opportunity
Must live in the Houston / surrounding area
This role sits right in the overlap between infrastructure and identity.
Not a narrow IAM specialist and not just a systems admin either. You’ll be working across both, understanding how identity flows through the environment and stepping in when something breaks, doesn’t provision, or doesn’t authenticate the way it should.
We’re looking for someone who can build and support core infrastructure while also troubleshooting identity-related issues across Active Directory, SailPoint, SSO, and MFA.
Must haves
• 3+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems administration, or IAM-related roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Active Directory beyond basic user and group management
• Experience supporting Windows Server environments
• Experience troubleshooting account provisioning and directory synchronization issues
• Experience supporting SSO and MFA authentication issues
• Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation and administration
• Ability to troubleshoot across systems and understand how identity integrates with infrastructure
Nice to have
• Experience with SailPoint IdentityNow or similar identity governance tools
• Familiarity with Entra ID (Azure AD)
• Exposure to identity governance concepts such as RBAC and lifecycle management
• Experience with ticketing systems like ServiceNow
• Experience with VMware or Linux environments
Here’s what the work looks like.
You’ll support and troubleshoot Active Directory, including replication, domain services, GPOs, and OU structures. On the identity side, you’ll work with provisioning workflows, helping resolve issues where accounts aren’t created, updated, or synced correctly.
You’ll also support authentication technologies like SSO and MFA, helping diagnose failures and ensure secure access across enterprise applications.
There’s a strong troubleshooting component here. You’ll be digging into issues, figuring out what’s actually happening across systems, and putting fixes in place that prevent repeat problems.
You’ll also use PowerShell to automate tasks, improve processes, and reduce manual effort wherever possible.
This role is for someone who likes understanding how things connect. Identity, infrastructure, authentication, and applications all working together and sometimes not.
At iSphere, we look for people who can figure things out without needing everything handed to them. If you’re someone who enjoys solving problems across systems and wants to grow across both infrastructure and identity, this is a strong fit.
If you’re in the Houston area and looking for a full-time role with a mix of hands-on work and flexibility, let’s talk.
