Summary

About the Role

We are seeking a Data & Analytics Engineer to support an organization that relies on scalable analytics, lightweight tooling, and rapid data-driven insights. This role sits at the intersection of data analytics, light engineering, and internal tooling, and is best suited for someone with experience in enterprise-scale data environments.
You do not need to be a full-stack or backend engineer. Instead, you should bring:
  • strong analytical instincts,
  • solid SQL and Python foundations,
  • the ability to build small internal tools, and
  • comfort navigating and leveraging existing internal systems and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build ad hoc analytical workflows, scripts, and lightweight internal tools using SQL, Python, and internal services.
  • Transform ambiguous data questions into clear analytical approaches and structured outputs.
  • Develop structured datasets, materialized views, and repeatable analytical assets from internal data sources.
  • Conduct deep-dive investigations into operational data, performance gaps, and unexpected trends.
  • Partner with product, analytics, and science-adjacent teams to define KPIs, logic, and measurement frameworks.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance dashboards or reporting layers to accelerate insight delivery.
  • Troubleshoot data quality issues, investigate anomalies, and propose improvements to data reliability.
  • Document logic, workflows, and tooling for cross-team reproducibility and clarity.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong proficiency in SQL working with large, complex datasets.
  • Hands-on experience using Python for analysis, automation, data manipulation, or lightweight tooling.
  • Experience in data analytics, BI engineering, or analytics engineering in a high-scale environment.
  • Experience with dashboarding or visualization tools (QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Ability to navigate internal services, pipelines, or data platforms and understand how upstream/downstream systems interact.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills; able to work through ambiguity with minimal direction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience at an enterprise company
  • Experience supporting operational, product, or cross-functional analytics use cases.
  • Experience with event-level datasets, clickstream data, or customer journey analytics.
  • Experience building or enhancing simple internal tools, automation scripts, or lightweight applications.
  • Familiarity working alongside product, engineering, or science teams.
  • Familiarity with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, Athena, etc.).

Why This Role May Be a Strong Fit for You

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys:
  • Working with large operational datasets
  • Building small tools that streamline and automate internal workflows
  • Mixing analytics with lightweight engineering
  • Solving ambiguous problems and delivering rapid insights
  • Influencing data, tooling, and measurement strategy within a complex organization
