We are seeking a Director / Senior Director of Product Marketing to lead the global marketing strategy for a next-generation semiconductor company operating at the forefront of coherent optical communications. This senior leadership role owns the entire marketing function, spanning strategic positioning, product and technical marketing, demand generation, and go-to-market execution.
The role requires a rare combination of deep technical expertise in coherent optics and DSP technologies along with proven product marketing leadership in high-growth or startup environments. You will represent the organization externally within the optical communications and semiconductor ecosystem while working closely with internal engineering teams to translate market needs into technical requirements.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the architecture of AI connectivity and modern data infrastructure, including 800G, 1.6T, and next-generation optical systems.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing Leadership
- Define and execute a global marketing strategy aligned with corporate objectives and product roadmaps
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to position the company as a market leader in Coherent DSP and optical semiconductors
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership, sales, operations, and engineering to ensure alignment on messaging, roadmap, and market priorities
Product & Technical Marketing
- Own end-to-end product marketing for Coherent DSP ASICs, including competitive analysis, value propositions, differentiation, MRDs, and PRDs
- Develop high-impact technical content such as white papers, datasheets, product briefs, and executive presentations for engineers, system architects, and C-suite buyers
- Engage with industry analysts and represent the company at major conferences and industry events
Demand Generation & Go-to-Market
- Design and lead GTM strategies, including product launches, integrated campaigns, digital outreach, and sales enablement
- Oversee global demand generation, PR, SEO/SEM, events, and partner marketing initiatives
- Partner with sales leadership to support account-based marketing, customer acquisition, and pipeline acceleration
Team & Budget Management
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing global marketing team
- Own and manage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal ROI and resource allocation
Required Skills
Must Have
- Proven success bringing technical semiconductor or telecom solutions to market in startup or high-growth environments
- Deep understanding of coherent optical systems, DSP algorithms, modulation formats, and telecom/datacom market dynamics
- Hands-on experience owning and authoring MRDs and PRDs
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling, market-ready narratives
Preferred
- Experience working with hyperscalers, network OEMs, or system integrators
- Strong people leadership, organizational development, and team-building experience
- Budget ownership and strategic resource allocation expertise
- Background across both startups and large enterprises
- Experience leading through funding rounds, M&A, or IPO phases
Qualifications
Must Have
- 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience in optical communications, semiconductors, or networking
- 5+ years of direct experience in coherent optics, DSP, transceivers, or photonic integrated circuits (PICs)
Preferred
- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related discipline
