Genesis10 is currently seeking a VP, Product Platform Engineering - Remote for a direct hire, contract-to-hire, or contract position with a Financial Services Company located in Salt Lake City, UT. We are seeking an experienced VP, Product Platform Engineering to lead a team of approximately 15 engineers through a significant evolution toward a modern, API-first product platform model. This is a hands-on engineering leadership role for someone who knows what good looks like when building enterprise product platforms and can translate that experience into strong engineering practices, team execution, and measurable delivery. This role partners with senior stakeholders to translate strategy into execution, drives engineering excellence, and builds high-performing teams while advancing cloud-native and modern development practices.
Responsibilities: - Define, architect, and manage end-to-end technical solutions that meet business objectives while ensuring alignment with enterprise data, cybersecurity, and architectural principles
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technical leads, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Own end-to-end delivery of software products and features, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and budget commitments are met
- Establish and continuously refine engineering processes, CI/CD pipelines, and development best practices
- Collaborate with VP-level and SVP-level stakeholders to translate business strategy into technical direction and executable roadmaps
- Drive the transition from application-centric development to an API-first, product platform operating model
- Lead the design and delivery of scalable APIs, microservices, and reusable platform capabilities
- Drive cloud-native development strategies, overseeing the design, deployment, and optimization of workloads on cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 10 years of progressive software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or engineering management role
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, enterprise-grade applications using microservices and cloud-native architectures in a production environment
- Extensive experience aligning technical solutions with enterprise data, cybersecurity, and architectural governance standards within a matrixed organization
- Hands-on cloud development background with experience owning cloud infrastructure decisions and managing cost optimization, reliability, and scalability
- Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, API design and governance, microservices, and distributed systems
- Strong Agile/Scrum delivery background
- Ability to operate as both a people leader and a credible technical leader
Desired skills: - Master's degree preferred
- Experience in regulated industries (Financial Services, Healthcare, or similar)
- Experience within a .NET / Microsoft technology environment
- Demonstrated experience applying Domain Driven Design (DDD) principles
- Experience modernizing legacy or application-centric environments into API-driven product platforms
- Experience using AI-assisted software engineering tools and development practices (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
Pay range: $190,000 - $230,000 annually, plus bonus potential Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
