Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Linux Engineer/Application Programmer III to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Linux engineering, automation, and infrastructure monitoring and a proven ability to design, implement, and maintain secure, reliable Linux environments that support business-critical applications.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers in Linux environments.
- Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Monitor server health through automated and manual processes.
- Design, develop, and implement infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools using scripts such as BASH and PowerShell.
- Perform server hardware maintenance and upgrades.
- Create test automation frameworks in collaboration with team members or other IT departments.
- Develop tools to improve functionality and efficiency of infrastructure.
- Maintain software repositories and apply software updates.
- Maintain documentation for procedures, configurations, and programs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Linux operating systems and servers in virtualized environments.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Ruby, Perl, or related languages, plus proficiency with BASH.
- Experience with Ping, SSO, and certificate management.
- Knowledge of automation technologies and configuration management tools such as Puppet and Chef.
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as Bind, Apache, MySQL, and Nginx.
- Knowledge of databases such as MS SQL, Oracle, or DB2.
- Experience with application support, web technologies, APIs, and microservices.
- Excellent communication, documentation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud computing.
- Experience with open-source application suites, such as WordPress or Drupal.
- Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Role Logistics & Interview Process
- Work mode: Hybrid with a minimum of 3 days onsite per week. Onsite day 1 required.
- Start window: September or October.
- Interview process: 1-2 rounds. In-person required. Video is required.
- Title on requisition: Engineer/Application Programmer III.
