Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of professional software development experience across the full SDLC
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and SQL, including schema design and optimization
- Experience with ORM frameworks such as SQLAlchemy, Hibernate, or JPA
- Solid understanding of software architecture, scalability, testing, and documentation best practices
- Familiarity with front-end development and building interactive, data-driven web applications
- Experience integrating and scaling full-stack systems across distributed environments
- Knowledge of test-driven development (TDD) and QA methodologies
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with experience enhancing large, complex systems
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience developing healthcare or clinical software products used in production
- Knowledge of HL7 standards, data interoperability, or EMR/EHR integrations
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue, or similar) and visualization tools
- Proven experience working in HIPAA-compliant or regulated environments
- Familiarity with cloud-based architectures (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure) and secure data processing
What You Will Be Doing
Tech Breakdown
- 40% Backend Development (Python, PostgreSQL, APIs, Data Integration)
- 40% Frontend/UI Development (Web-based Clinical Tools)
- 20% QA, Testing, and System Enhancements
Daily Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize large-scale clinical features and annotation tools
- Collaborate with product, design, and lab teams to improve usability and workflow efficiency
- Maintain and scale existing systems for high reliability and performance
- Write clean, testable, and well-documented production code
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and data integrity standards (HIPAA)
- Participate in architecture reviews and technical design discussions
