ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate the collection, normalization and analysis of datasets across multiple data platforms.
• Assist in designing and building data service infrastructure across multiple data platforms.
• Work with analytics teams to ensure functionality in data systems.
• Participate in the development of and implementation of data solutions for multiple applications to ensure scalability and maintainability.
• Design and implement process improvements including automation of processes and redesign of data infrastructure. • Owns significant components of the database platform (specific schemas/domains, key performance areas, or HA/DR operational ownership) with minimal guidance.
• Leads technical workstreams (e.g., partitioning rollout, performance remediation, operational readiness) and drives them to closure.
• Improves runbooks/automation; contributes to production incident response and prevention.
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
• Strong hands-on experience designing and operating high-volume, enterprise OLTP databases supporting mission-critical transactions.
• Advanced SQL and performance tuning experience
• MySQL
• Oracle
• Experience with operational best practices: backup/restore validation, patch planning, monitoring/alerting, incident response, and runbooks.
• Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and security with clear, structured communication.
FLEX SKILLS:
• Exadata experience
• Data Guard experience (HA/DR, role transitions, validation of primary/standby states).
• GoldenGate experience (replication design/operations).
• Understanding of enterprise MySQL deployment/replication patterns (e.g., primary/replica cross-site patterns).
SOFT SKILLS:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills • Independent work and collaboration skills • Ability to work in cross functional teams
EDUCATION: • Bachelors minimum
