Job Title: Business System Analyst
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Location: Long Beach, CA

Hybrid Onsite Role (3 days onsite per week)

Job Summary
The client is seeking a proactive, process-oriented Senior Business Analyst to serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, Information Management, and technology partners to support the implementation and ongoing evolution of the client's Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS).

The role is responsible for organizing and facilitating project team members to utilize approved business requirements, support system and integration design, coordinate testing activities, and ensure that asset management capabilities align with the client's long-term technology and digital transformation objectives. The candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendor partners to ensure that asset management processes, workflows, integrations, and reporting capabilities support operational, financial, and strategic business needs.

This position plays a critical role in helping the client establish a modern asset management capability while creating the foundation for future initiatives such as predictive maintenance, asset analytics, smart infrastructure, and Digital Twin technologies. The role bridges business operations, technology, and data to ensure that asset lifecycle decisions are informed, integrated, and aligned with the client's strategic objectives. The successful candidate will be experienced in guiding project teams to ensure that the appropriate “as-is” and “to-be” requirements elicitation approach is applied based on the scenario they are facing.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience building trust with stakeholders and business leaders, allowing them to act in the role of a trusted partner leading and facilitating teams responsible for completing project deliverables such as functional workflow designs, configuration specifications, training materials, user acceptance test cases, etc. Finally, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate measured improvement because of their work.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation, enhancement, and adoption of the client's Enterprise Asset Management System (VUEWorks).
• Analyze and understand approved business requirements to facilitate meetings with business stakeholders responsible for translating them into system workflows, configurations, and functional specifications.
• Ensure business, operational, and regulatory requirements are accurately reflected within the EAMS platform.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of asset lifecycle management processes and standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Program Management, Project Control, Maintenance, Finance, and Information Management Divisions.
• Facilitate requirements validation, process reviews, solutioning, training and testing discussions.
• Support business process improvement initiatives related to asset management and infrastructure lifecycle planning.
• Coordinate and support integration activities between VUEWorks and enterprise systems.
• Assist in documenting data flows, integration requirements, interfaces, and business rules.
• Support data quality, data governance, and asset information management initiatives.
• Develop and execute integration testing strategies and test plans.
• Coordinate system integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and defect resolution activities.
• Work closely with business users, vendors, and project teams to validate functionality and business processes.
• Support training, knowledge transfer, and organizational change management activities.
• Support the development of asset information capabilities that enable future Digital Twin initiatives.
• Assist in defining technology roadmaps, data requirements, and integration strategies supporting smart infrastructure and digital asset management.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Technology Strategy teams to align asset management initiatives with the client's long-term technology vision.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics or a closely related field.
• 6–10+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role
• IAM certification and domain expertise with ISO 55000
• Experience with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), or infrastructure asset management solutions.
• Understanding of business analysis, process mapping, requirements gathering, and workflow design.
• Familiarity with enterprise system integrations, APIs, and data management concepts.
• Experience supporting testing activities, including integration testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills.
• Proven experience organizing and facilitating teams of end users in requirements, training, and acceptance testing phases for enterprise wide, complex system implementations or integrations.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across business and technical teams
• Deep understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid environments)
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Desired Skills/Knowledge:

• Knowledge of GIS, BIM, SCADA, ERP, financial systems, or related operational technologies is desirable.
• Strong data analysis skills, including SQL, reporting tools, or data visualization platforms.
• Experience working in Agile or product-centric delivery models.
• Other relevant certifications (CBAP, PMI-PBA, or similar).
• Experience mentoring or leading other analysts.
