Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Performance Engineer with strong Python development skills to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in mainframe systems performance analysis, monitoring, tuning, and automation using Python scripting.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Analyze and optimize mainframe system performance across z/OS environments

·         Monitor CPU, memory, storage, batch, and transaction performance metrics

·         Perform performance tuning for CICS, DB2, IMS, JES2/JES3, and MQ environments

·         Develop automation and reporting solutions using Python scripting

·         Analyze SMF/RMF data and generate performance insights

·         Troubleshoot system bottlenecks and recommend optimization strategies

·         Work closely with infrastructure, application, and operations teams

·         Create dashboards, reports, and monitoring tools for performance tracking

·         Support capacity planning and forecasting activities

·         Participate in root cause analysis and performance improvement initiatives

Required Skills:

·         Strong experience in Mainframe Performance Engineering

·         Hands-on expertise with z/OS performance monitoring and tuning

·         Experience with SMF, RMF, OMEGAMON, SYSVIEW, or similar tools

·         Strong Python scripting/programming skills

·         Experience with automation and data analysis using Python

·         Knowledge of CICS, DB2, IMS, JCL, VSAM, and MQ

·         Experience in batch performance optimization

·         Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Skills:

·         Experience with Splunk, Grafana, or monitoring dashboards

·         Knowledge of DevOps and automation practices

·         Experience in financial, healthcare, or enterprise environments

·         Familiarity with Agile methodologies

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

·         7+ years of mainframe performance engineering experience

·         Strong communication and documentation skills
