The Chewy Ads team is looking for Data Engineer III to help with integrating and processing data from various streams to influence product strategy, data science research and machine learning strategy, business and analytical team's strategy.

What You'll Do:- Own the design, development, and reliability of end-to-end analytics data pipelines
- Build and maintain scalable, analytics-ready data models and semantic layers
- Translate complex and ambiguous business needs into durable data solutions
- Develop high-quality data products that enable self-service for Analytics and Data Science partners
- Define, implement, and uphold analytic data engineering standards (modeling, testing, documentation, governance)
- Lead evaluation and adoption of tools and processes that improve data quality, velocity, and maintainability
- Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code for robust analytic data systems
- Partner closely with Analytics, business stakeholders, and core Data Engineering to deliver high-impact data solutions
- Drive onboarding of new first- and third-party data sources in collaboration with Data Engineering
- Mentor peers, contribute to technical reviews, and raise the overall quality bar of the team
- Communicate data capabilities, limitations, and best practices clearly to stakeholders
- Actively contribute to team planning, discussions, and a collaborative engineering culture
What You'll Need:- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Business Intelligence roles working with ETL, Data Modeling, and Data Architecture, developing modem data pipelines and applications for analytics (e.g., BI, reporting, dashboards) and advanced analytics (e.g., machine learning, deep learning) use cases.
- Expertise crafting and implementing enterprise data pipelines using modern data engineering approach and tools: Airflow, Spark, PySpark, Docker, Databricks, Glue, cloud-native EDW (Snowflake or equivalent), Kafka, Athena
- Proficiency in AWS ecosystem, Python, SQL
- Proficiency in data warehouse methodologies and techniques from transactional databases to dimensional data modeling, to wide denormalized data marts.
- Experience with writing and reviewing version-controlled code (GitHub).
- Experience effectively presenting insights and summarizing complex data to diverse audiences through visualizations.
- To be a self-starter with the ability to take initiative and drive projects forward independently.
- Familiarity with Retail Media or Ad Tech is a plus
The base salary range for this role is $129,500 - $207,000.
- The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.

Exempt salary team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
