The Work
We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support multiple Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) programs and participate in all phases of the systems engineering process (system design, requirements development, modeling and simulation and test). The engineer will leverage RMS systems engineering processes and procedures while performing their respective engineering and verification activities.

In this important role, you will collaborate in an Agile environment with other engineering disciplines and program personnel. A desire to learn and adopt emerging technologies and tools will be key to success in this role.

The core responsibilities of this role will be:
Model development, data analytics, behavior analysis
Gathering requirements, defining system functionality and developing system requirements
Developing and executing test plans and procedures
Troubleshooting, debugging and identifying solutions for system capabilities
Taking ownership for increasingly difficult tasks, completing them on schedule, documenting results, and leading demonstrations

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or closely related technical field
Minimum of 5 years professional experience
Proficient in the following areas: Rhapsody/Cameo, Linux, Bash scripting, MATLAB
Algorithm design & development experience
Proficient in Java, C++ and Python
Ability to obtain & maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level. U.S. Citizenship required.

Desired skills

Master's degree or PhD in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or closely related STEM field
Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with an Agile framework or Atlassian tools such as Jira or Confluence
Experience working in a DevSecOps environment
Experience with engineering tools such as DOORs, Git or Cameo
Familiarity or interest in Model-Based Systems Engineering solutions

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

The base range for this position in New Jersey is $91000 - $172488..
