Senior Project Manager

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a Hybrid position with a Major Energy Infrastructure Company located in Valparaiso, IN. This is a 9+ month contract opportunity.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the development and execution of large-scale natural gas-fired power generation projects. This role is responsible for managing the construction portion of generation assets, from procurement and EPC execution through to commissioning and commercial operation. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in EPC execution, utility-scale generation, and complex stakeholder coordination in fast-paced, capital-intensive environments.

Responsibilities:

• Lead all phases of CTG/CCGT project execution from development through commercial operation
• Manage EPC contractors and OEMs
• Establish and maintain project scope, schedule, and budget for large-scale projects
• Ensure alignment with commercial, regulatory, and operational requirements
• Oversee site construction activities, including civil works, turbine installation, and electrical/I&C installation
• Track critical path schedules and manage project controls, change orders, and risk-adjusted forecasting
• Administer EPC, OEM, and service contracts, including claims and negotiations
• Support commissioning, startup, and performance testing
• Champion a strong health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture
• Interface with executive leadership, utility customers, regulatory agencies, and local communities

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or a related field
• 10-15+ years of experience in power generation or heavy industrial projects
• 7+ years managing large EPC projects
• Demonstrated experience with gas turbine projects and combined-cycle plant construction
• Strong understanding of CTG and CCGT plant design, HRSG systems, and high-voltage systems
• Knowledge of gas system design, operations, and relevant local, state, and federal codes
• Proficiency with project management software, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams in complex, high-risk construction environments
• Valid Driver's License and ability to travel 30-40%

Desired skills:

• Master's degree or MBA
• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
• OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification
• Familiarity with OEM platforms
• Advanced schedule and cost control expertise
• Experience with contract negotiation and claims management

Pay range: up to $91 per hour
