Job Description

Who will you be working with?
As the Director of IT Mergers and Acquisitions, you will work closely with the CIO, VP of IT Strategy and Operational Effectiveness, corporate business development, and IT leaders across all regions and functions, collaborating daily with executive leadership and integration teams to drive global IT merger and acquisition initiatives that align technology strategy with business objectives.

How will you make a difference?
As Director of IT Mergers and Acquisitions, you will play a critical role in shaping the success of merger, integration, and divestiture initiatives. By leading IT due diligence, integration and separation planning, and execution, you will ensure seamless technology transitions, minimize risk, and unlock synergies or efficiencies across acquired and divested businesses. Your leadership will directly impact how organizations are onboarded or separated, how systems and data are harmonized or disentangled, and how technology delivers strategic value to the enterprise.

What do we want to know about you?
You must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
  • Minimum eight years of recent experience in technology/business consulting and/or technology leadership, with a proven track record of leading IT transformations and advising on complex M&A transactions
  • Demonstrated success in leading global, high-impact IT-focused M&A projects with expertise in at least three of the following: system integration/separation, platform migration, IT architecture modernization, outsourcing of IT operations, or regulatory technology implementation
  • In-depth knowledge of post-merger IT integration, carve-out separation, process reengineering, offshoring strategies, and IT risk and compliance management
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams including advanced program management skills to oversee large, complex projects delivering strategic insights to executive audiences; comprehensive understanding of IT best practices and enterprise IT ecosystems, including major ERP and business application platforms, IT solutions, systems, infrastructure, and cybersecurity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence at the enterprise level
  • Analytical skills to solve complex business problems and design effective technology solutions
We would love it if you had:
  • Master''s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies and driving business growth in the M&A space, including client relationship management and engagement in business development activities
What will your typical day look like?
  • Lead and oversee comprehensive buy-side and sell-side IT due diligence across critical domains for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; assess technology landscapes, infrastructure, systems, and risks, identifying key IT risks, opportunities, and required investments.
  • Deliver executive-level due diligence reports with strategic recommendations, highlighting integration or separation challenges and opportunities.
  • Direct IT integration and separation initiatives from planning through execution; develop strategic deliverables including current state assessments, entanglement identification, IT operating model definitions, synergy analysis, and day 1/post-close plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Establish and manage program governance frameworks, overseeing project execution, risk management, issue tracking, and status reporting; ensure rigorous oversight and alignment with deal objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior cross-functional teams—including the CIO, VP IT Strategy & Operational Effectiveness, business development, and IT leaders—to identify IT-related dependencies, risks, and opportunities, and proactively resolve issues.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement through meetings and strategic presentations with executive leadership, integration teams, external advisors (legal, financial, technical), and clients; cultivate strong, trust-based relationships to ensure effective communication and satisfaction.
  • Monitor and report progress on integration/separation milestones, technology portfolio management, and strategic outcomes to executive leadership.
  • Recommend and drive technology rationalization and modernization, optimizing the application and technology portfolio to deliver measurable value and resilience.
  • Support operational excellence by ensuring consistent processes for IT due diligence, integration, and divestiture activities; incorporate best practices and lessons learned into playbooks and templates.
  • Contribute to the financial recast process by reviewing and identifying IT budgets to ensure alignment with current team allocations, making adjustments as needed to support the new organizational structure and business objectives.
  • Estimate and help manage IT costs associated with collaboration and standardization phases of acquisitions, including budgeting for system harmonization, process alignment, and technology investments.
  • Lead efforts to mentor and develop project managers and junior staff, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and high performance; encourage knowledge sharing and support professional growth across the team.
  • Attend meetings in a hybrid work environment, collaborating in-person and virtually with stakeholders and teams across the enterprise.
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold a respectful and courteous work environment.

What about the physical demands of the job?
  • Hybrid work environment (at least three days onsite – typically Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
  • Regularly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Regularly communicating with others to exchange information
  • Regularly required to attend meetings in person and virtually using video and audio computer equipment
  • Regularly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, such as typing
  • Occasionally moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
  • Occasionally light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
