Sr. Linux Systems Engineer

ITCON Services is seeking to hire a motivated and knowledgeable Sr. Systems Engineer (Sr. Linux Systems/Azure Cloud Engineer) to join our team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Has 10+ experience providing production support, platform/server administration support, and environment standardization for development, test, and Production for both Windows and Linux (Redhat and other)
• Experience with Linux hardening (CIS/STIG baselines), secure configuration, and compliance/audit remediation
• Experience with patching and lifecycle management using Red Hat Satellite (content views, repos, activation keys) across enterprise Linux environments
• Experience with UNIX utilities and scripting such as Perl, Ansible, and Shell
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or Bicep/ARM) and configuration management for repeatable cloud deployments
• Experience with JBoss, Wildfire, Tomcat, ASP.NET, IIS, support, maintenance, and administration.
• Experience providing technical and system administration support through troubleshooting, identifying and isolating issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing appropriate solutions to software and system anomalies as they occur
• Experience in performing scans and remediating vulnerabilities in Linux and/or Windows environments
• Experience establishing database Connectivity (MS SQL Server, ODBC, JDBC) support, maintenance, and administration.
• Experience implementing monitoring tools and remediation of issues for public websites
• Ability to develop and maintains system/security documentation as needed
• Has strong understanding of network protocols (e.g., BGP, TCP/UDP, IP)
• Strong network administration and troubleshooting skills (routing/switching concepts, DNS/DHCP, firewall/ACL troubleshooting, packet captures)
• Experience providing network admin support for internet connectivity, Akamai services, TIC integration, Firewall rules, ACLs, and trusted connections.
• Has experience in designing and building environment in Azure Cloud, configuring services in Azure Cloud, and migration of applications from On-Premises to Azure Cloud
• Experience with Azure networking (VNets/subnets, NSGs, route tables, Load Balancer/Application Gateway) and connectivity (VPN/ExpressRoute)
• Experience with Azure identity and access management (Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, managed identities; least-privilege administration)
• Experience with Azure monitoring and logging (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights) including alerting and dashboards
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery in Azure (Azure Backup, recovery services vaults, restore testing, RPO/RTO considerations)
• Experience with Azure security and governance (Defender for Cloud, security baselines, policy initiatives) and cost optimization (tagging, budgets, rightsizing)
• Experience with AVS (Azure VMware Solution), including configuration, administration, and operational support in enterprise environments
• Experience installing, renewing, and troubleshooting SSL/TLS certificates (certificate chains, keystores/truststores) across Windows and Linux platforms
• Experience using GitHub for source control and GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation (build, test, deploy workflows)
• Experience with architecture, VMs build out using Windows and Red Hat Linux, and implementation of public websites using IaaS and PaaS based environments
• Experience in Docker and Kubernetes
