Come join National Security Space and the Skynet EC team as a Specialty Engineer in Component Parts Engineering as we deliver the next generation of communications satellites to the our UK partners.

As a Component Engineer, Sr in the Parts, Materials and Processes (PMP) group of Specialty Systems Engineering working in National Security Space - Global Communications and Navigation (NSS-GC&N), you'll work on a team in a range of projects that will challenge you to learn and grow in your career. You'll use your education, experience and growing expertise to drive selection of preferred PMP and maintain accurate PMP requirements in the engineering tools (PMPDB, EPDM, ERP). Working side by side with PMP subject matter experts, Procurement, Receiving Inspection and PMP manufacturers you'll develop requirements to fulfill product schedule, cost and performance requirements.
In this role you will:
Become an expert in the engineering design tools and be able to recommend and evaluate tool enhancements
Perform data maintenance for Parts and Specification in the PMP Database and EPDM
Drive Space preferred PMP selection, factoring in need and cost and ensuring the attainment of design objectives
Support subject matter experts and PMP Database users with recommended solutions to data issues
Work on projects to support engineering design tools

We're looking for:
Someone with strong organizational skills
A self-starter who develops solutions to technical issues
A motivated individual who's able to work closely within a multidisciplinary and diverse team to resolve technical issues
Someone with the ability to handle shifting priorities, multiple projects and timeline pressure to meet deadlines
Someone comfortable with communicating in a variety of forums
The ability to work with management and program representatives at several levels

Basic Qualifications

Experience working PMP (Parts, Materials, and Processes) on a program
Experience with Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical (EEE) parts performance requirements and specifications
Experience with mechanical parts performance requirements and specifications
Willingness/Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance; ship Required

Desired skills

Active or Current Secret security clearance
Experience successfully completing projects and/or multi-discipline team efforts by applying technical knowledge and leadership skills
Documentation Engineering experience: plans and coordinates preparation of documentation to balance technical, cost and schedule needs
Advanced proficiency in software tools such as MS Office (Access, Excel, Project), SAP, is a plus
Familiar with using business tools and systems for configuration management and quality control (e.g. SAP, EPDM, PMPDB, LIMS)
Experience using EXCEL pivot tables for data reporting
Knowledge of relational databases
Experience in mentoring peers on company processes and passing on technical knowledge
Familiar with the UK and European Parts and processes standards
Experience working collaboratively with customers and teammates with a customer focus
Experience in multiple programmatic phases, such as design reviews, manufacturing reviews, and flight hardware deliveries
Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $98,300 - $170,315. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
