Assistant Project Manager MEP Engineering

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
  • Active Professional Engineer license in the State of Texas in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 7 years of progressive engineering experience, including substantial experience in an MEP consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects.
  • Experience managing project deliverables, schedules, budgets, priorities, and internal resources.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or providing technical direction to EITs, designers, and junior engineering staff.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, energy codes, engineering standards, and construction practices.
  • Experience reviewing construction documents, specifications, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and field reports.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and client-facing communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Ability to travel periodically to client meetings and project sites.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing or managing MEP projects for K 12 schools, colleges, universities, or other educational facilities.
  • Experience serving as the primary day-to-day client contact on engineering projects.
  • Experience developing project fees, scopes of work, staffing plans, or proposals.
  • Experience managing projects through both design and construction administration.
  • Strong proficiency with Revit-based project delivery.
  • Familiarity with Texas school district design standards and project requirements.
