Role: Test Engineer

Location: Virginia (Remote)

ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED.

This contract to hire role & the conversion salary will be $85K per Year.

Candidate must be located in DMV area and able to commute to Stafford, VA office 3-4 times per month.

The Test Engineer will support the program with hands-on test development. This tester is primarily responsible for designing, expanding, improving, and maintaining our test suite and requires an exceptional candidate with advanced quality assurance and software testing experience. This tester should be self-starting and proactive; they are expected to serve as a trusted resource on the business logic in place as well as our system architecture. They are expected to work collaboratively, with minimal supervision, on teams including DevOps Engineers and Developers to ensure our application meets users’ needs, as well as business requirements and scalability characteristics. Each team member is expected to be cross-functional and take collective ownership to ensure deliverables are met and superb quality is achieved.

Required Skills

• Secret clearance
• Minimum 1+ years of hands-on software testing experience
• Experience with test suite development and maintenance
• Experience with manual testing
• Experience with integration testing
• Experience cross-browser/cross-platform testing
• Experience working as part of an agile team using SAFe, Scrum, XP and/or Kanban
• Generation and maintenance of controlled test datasets and scenarios
• Hands-on experience writing SQL queries and knowledge of SQL databases
• Experience working with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
• Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Appium, Robot, Cucumber, etc.
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, K6, Loadrunner, etc.
• Understands software engineering and testing best practices
• Experience with testing tools such as Xray or TestRail
• Security testing experience a plus
• Self-motivated, quick learner with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
