Genesis10 is currently seeking a Technical Lead - Trading Technology Platform for a hybrid position located in New York, NY. This is a long-term contract to hire opportunity. Responsibilities: - Architect and develop features on the trading real-time event streaming platform (Java-based)
- Take ownership of trading and compliance workstreams, reducing dependency on the Head of Trading Technology for day-to-day delivery
- Mentor and code-review junior and mid-level developers, elevating the overall team capability
- Collaborate with product stakeholders to define and refine trading workflows including order blotter, pre-trade compliance, and order lifecycle management
- Assist in integrating the event-driven platform with downstream systems including their legacy OMS and compliance tooling
- Help standardize engineering practices and guide adoption of the new platform across additional current trading applications
- Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions, serving as a technical escalation point for the team
Requirements: - 10+ years of software engineering experience in financial services, within capital markets, trading, or investment management environments
- Strong Java development skills; experience with event-driven or event-sourcing architectures (Kafka, Aeron, custom sequencers, or similar)
- Proven ability to both architect and deliver code as an individual contributor - not just a hands-off architect
- Experience in real-time trading systems (OMS, EMS, order blotter, pre-trade compliance, or similar)
- Ability to mentor developers of varying skill levels and communicate technical direction clearly
- Exposure to Python-based microservices and comfort working in a multi-language environment
- Strong understanding of enterprise software design patterns and distributed systems
Desired skills: - Background in eventing platforms modeled after matching engine architectures (NASDAQ-style)
- Experience with FIX protocol and broker/execution connectivity
- Familiarity with compliance or regulatory workflows in an asset management context
- Cloud infrastructure experience on Azure, including Kubernetes deployments
- Prior work at top-tier financial institutions (bulge bracket banks or major hedge funds/asset managers)
Pay range: $100.00 - $112.00 per hour
