Application Programmer - Jersey City, NJ - Contract - $68-73 Per HR

We are seeking an experienced engineer to design, build, and scale advanced software extensions supporting complex developer workflows. This remote contract position requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to influence technical direction. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with developer tools and IDE extensions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable software extensions for developer workflows.
• Collaborate with teams to influence technical direction and improve developer experience.
• Maintain and update extensions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.
• Integrate with custom source control systems and virtual file systems.
• Optimize performance within IDE environments.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of software engineering experience.
• Proven track record in delivering production-grade developer tools.
• Expertise in extension development, including publishing and versioning.
• Strong programming proficiency in multiple languages.
• Solid understanding of software architecture and internals.
