Java backend Developer (Google Cloud Platform, Big Data, cloud-native)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Java Developer with strong expertise in cloud-native application development on Google Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience in Java, Spring ecosystem, microservices architecture, and big data databases, along with strong SQL skills using PostgreSQL. This is a fully onsite role in Alpharetta, GA, and requires in-person interview availability.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot

Build cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)

Develop RESTful APIs and backend services following best practices

Work with big data databases and handle large-scale data processing

Design and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas, queries, and performance

Implement secure, resilient, and high-performance backend systems

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, DevOps, and business stakeholders

Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and production support

Required Skills & Qualifications

12+ years of strong backend development experience

Advanced proficiency in Java

Strong experience with Spring Framework & Spring Boot

Hands-on experience building Microservices architecture

Mandatory experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)

Experience working with Big Data databases

Strong expertise in PostgreSQL (Postgres SQL)

Experience developing REST APIs and distributed systems

Strong understanding of CI/CD and cloud deployment models

Nice to Have

Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

Exposure to cloud monitoring and logging tools

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
