Business/Data Analyst
1 year+ Contract
100% Remote with ~25% Travel
**Must have P&C Insurance and Power BI Experience**
We are seeking a data professional who will support Data team as we build a business analyst framework to support our data management processes. We are looking for professionals that drive interactions between business people/process and interactions with specialists in decision science, data analysis and data management, so that we can incorporate data, analytics, and automation into our business.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Collaborate with and across business and technical teams to design, develop, test, and implement data and analytic solutions that enhance audit processes as we evaluate technical, operational, and financial data generated by our businesses' operations.
Facilitate the collection, aggregation, and refinement of data from operational systems and repositories to conduct assessments and analysis associated with financial and operational data and reporting.
Perform data preparation activities (data quality, summarization, and transformation) that will help facilitate downstream activities (like reporting, sampling, monitoring).
Work with analytic tools (ACL, Tableau, Power BI) on data collected from operational and financial systems as part of the business mapping process.
Lead interviews with technical and business partners to understand, document and validate data being used. Where applicable, perform systems analysis to ensure clear understanding of data flows between systems and processes are complete and accurate.
Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities.
Some travel may be required. (< 25%)
Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
5+ years experience in applying data and analytics concepts to complex business problems, producing end to end solutions that drive measurable value
5+ years of experience working with data engineering to deliver data products that facilitate BI, analysis, and operational process automation.
5+ years experience participating in structured problem solving exercises (design thinking, business process mapping, customer centric design) with customer and partner stakeholders to identify pain points, develop strategies, and design solutions to business problems
3+ years experience in delivering business analysis (BI) solutions in support of operational management (metrics definition, report development, report implementation, change management)including building data pipelines that facilitate automation.
3+ years experience in utilizing software to aggregate, organize, and automate data assets for use in analytical models, and reporting (python, ACL, Alteryx)
3+ years experience working with market leading business intelligence reporting suites (Tableau, Qlik, Spotfire, Power BI)
2+ years working with subject matter experts, and technical teams to design, implement and support data management practices within a large or medium sized organization
Comfortable working in a dynamic and diverse business landscape with distributed teams across the U.S. and internationally.
Demonstrated ability to explain modeling strategies and concepts, outcomes, and trade-offs with customers and partners.
