If you're a bridge engineer who thrives on technically complex work and wants to play a key role delivering high-profile DOT projects, this is an opportunity to lead, mentor, and make a lasting impact.
In this role, you'll serve as a technical leader on the analysis, design, and delivery of prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete, and structural steel bridges. You'll guide projects from concept through final construction plans, applying the latest SCDOT and AASHTO criteria to deliver safe, resilient, and cost-effective structures. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys hands-on design, seismic considerations, client collaboration, and developing the next generation of bridge engineers.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and oversee structural models and layouts that balance performance, constructability, and cost efficiency.
Apply advanced seismic design principles to bridge projects.
Review design calculations and quantities to ensure compliance with SCDOT standards, AASHTO specifications, and internal quality procedures.
Coordinate bridge design efforts with multidisciplinary teams, including roadway, geotechnical, hydraulics, and construction.
Ensure adherence to firm standards, quality practices, and applicable regulations across all design work.
Collaborate with clients and agency reviewers to address technical questions, review comments, and provide timely project updates.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and training to junior engineers and designers.
Supervise and guide staff assignments to ensure technical excellence and successful project delivery.
Support business development efforts by contributing technical expertise to proposals and interviews.
Represent the firm at client meetings, industry conferences, and professional events.
Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support project and team success.
