We have a new full-time requirement with Kyocera, located on Balboa Boulevard in Kearny Mesa, San Diego. This is a high-caliber, PhD-level (or equivalent) engineering role focused on thermal analysis and thermal design. Relocation $$ a possibility for the right candidate. Notably; Kyocera compete with Qualcomm for this kind of role and see themselves providing a broader work experience compared to Qualcom which is quite siloed:
Key highlights:
- Clearance/Compliance: ITAR exposure required; must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Location: Onsite in San Diego 4–5 days per week (no remote option)
- Profile: Very strong academic background with deep, hands-on experience in thermal modeling, analysis, and design within complex systems
- Industry experience: Defense, aerospace, advanced electronics, or similar highly regulated environments strongly preferred
Role and Responsibilities:
To align expectations going forward, we should target the following minimum experience levels:
MS candidates: 3–5 years of direct CFD and thermal analysis industry experience
BS candidates: 5–8 years of direct CFD and thermal analysis industry experience
PhD candidates: Relevant post-doctoral or equivalent hands-on industry experience may be considered toward these requirements
