Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following: Defining AWS infrastructure components such as EC2, RDS, Lambda, and Aurora for environment management and service integration using Terraform and CloudWatch; Setting up CI/CD pipelines for building and deploying services in AWS; Integrating AWS services such as SNS and Aurora databases; Managing read and write operations, configuring read replicas, and implementing data access patterns and archiving strategies for AWS. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: Implementing monitoring and alerting using CloudWatch and integrating Dynatrace APM; Designing and optimizing database schemas and queries for Aurora and RDS; Creating database maintenance procedures and tuning queries for performance; Developing core service functionalities using Java, Python, and Spring Boot; Designing RESTful APIs and defining service boundaries using microservice architecture and ApiHelper; Developing database access layers, creating repository interfaces, and implementing data structures and transaction management; Writing business logic for message processing and policy matching using data processing patterns; Conducting unit and integration testing; Implementing error handling and resilience patterns; Optimizing code for performance and scalability.
