Summary
Position Title: Senior SAS Business Data Analyst
Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior SAS Data Analyst with strong banking domain expertise to support data extraction, advanced analytics, and regulatory reporting initiatives. The candidate will work within complex banking data ecosystems including Mainframe, Teradata, and Hadoop environments.
This role requires hands-on SAS programming, statistical modeling, and deep understanding of regulatory reporting (CCAR, CECL, etc.).
Top Required Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on SAS programming (SAS Base, SAS Macros, PROC SQL)
- Strong experience in data extraction & ETL processes
- Experience working in large financial institutions (Banking/FinTech)
- Regulatory reporting exposure: CCAR / CECL / BCBS 239
- Advanced statistical analysis using SAS/STAT
- Experience with Teradata / Hadoop / Oracle / SQL Server
- Strong data validation & reconciliation experience
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-performance SAS programs for ETL and analytics
- Build reusable SAS Macros for automation
- Perform statistical trend analysis & predictive modeling
- Support regulatory audits & stress testing data requirements
- Validate and reconcile datasets for accuracy and governance compliance
- Collaborate with Line of Business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years SAS programming experience
- Experience within Banking / Financial Services domain
- Strong knowledge of banking data structures & compliance standards
Preferred Skills
- Experience transitioning SAS workflows to Python or R
- Agile / Jira experience
- Cloud data warehousing exposure (Snowflake / AWS)
