Network Administrator Intermediate - TS/SCI required

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a Network Administrator Intermediate, the work you will do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of Army Intelligence. You will play a crucial role in securing enterprise systems, advancing future capabilities while driving smarter solutions.
  • Lead/Manage/Support: Responsible for the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and usage of the company's local area network. This includes studying contractor products to determine which best meet company needs, assisting in presenting this information to management, and supporting the installation of hardware, software, and telecommunication equipment.
  • Collaborate: Work with network services, software systems engineering, and applications development teams to restore service and identify and correct core problems. Recommend network systems or modifications to reduce user issues and improve overall efficiency.
  • Drive: Manage and monitor network performance, maintain network security, and ensure that security procedures are implemented and enforced. Troubleshoot network issues, establish and implement policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with company objectives.
  • Utilize: Install, configure, and evaluate network hardware and software, including telecommunications systems, routers, and firewalls. Monitor and respond to problems using a variety of testing tools and techniques to maintain optimal network operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform administration duties for networking hardware, including routers, switches, hubs, gateways, access points, network interface cards, networking cables, network bridges, modems, ISDN adapters, firewalls, and other related components.
  • Possess strong knowledge of fiber and copper-based Ethernet technologies, capabilities, and their connectivity to local area and wide area networks.
  • Provide troubleshooting and technical support, including diagnosing issues with network infrastructure and components.
  • Offer end-user support, including training and assistance with network operations.
  • Administer network security, backup file server data/disks, and provide maintenance support for servers.
  • Set up new users, delete old users from the network, and ensure appropriate account management.
  • Follow and enforce established policies, procedures, and standards for network security and functionality.
  • Install and manage hardware and software for efficient network operations.
  • Support implementation, configuration, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Bring your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to GDIT. The Network Administrator Intermediate must have:
  • Education: Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on network administration experience.
  • Technical skills:
    • Comprehensive understanding of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support.
    • Knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software.
    • Proficiency with desktop operating systems and applications such as Windows and Linux.
  • Security clearance level: TS/SCI
  • Required Certification(s):
    • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract.
    • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent.
    • Computing Environment certification: CCNA or CCNA-Security.
  • Role requirements:
    • Daily on-site support at the customer location.
    • Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract.
    • The position may require lifting of objects (e.g., IT hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling to plug in cables, and other moderately strenuous activity.
    • Travel may be required to support the mission.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $32.30 - $43.70. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
