- Senior Salesforce Engineer__100% REMOTE
Summary
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Salesforce Engineer who is a true software engineer first, not a Salesforce-only developer. This role requires deep experience in object-oriented programming outside of the Salesforce ecosystem, strong engineering fundamentals, and comfort operating in a fully code-driven, Git-managed environment.
This position is ideal for someone who has built and maintained production-grade systems, owns their testing strategy, and has hands-on experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines. Candidates who began their careers strictly in Salesforce or transitioned from admin to developer without broader engineering experience will not be successful in this role.
Key Responsibilities
<>Solution Design>
- Design and implement scalable, resilient Salesforce-based solutions using strong engineering principles
- Provide technical direction and design recommendations aligned with long-term platform and engineering strategy
- Independently problem-solve and execute on initiatives that support broader product and engineering goals
<>Implementation & Development>
- Develop custom Salesforce solutions using Apex and Lightning Web Components (LWC)
- Build entirely custom experiences (low-code / no-code solutions are not part of the model)
- Deliver high-quality, maintainable code that meets expectations for stability, scalability, and security
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering partners while owning delivery outcomes
<>Testing & Code Quality>
- Own testing for all code delivered
- Write and maintain Apex tests and Jest tests for LWC
- Apply best practices around code coverage, observability, secure coding, and maintainability
- Bonus: Experience with Playwright or other modern front-end testing frameworks
<>DevOps & CI/CD>
- Work in a fully Git-managed environment
- Use GitHub and GitHub Actions for deployments
- Actively contribute to and improve CI/CD pipelines
- Use metrics and data to evaluate system health and delivery performance
- Participate in team support rotations and provide expert-level troubleshooting
<>Integration & Platform Engineering>
- Build and support integrations using REST APIs
- Experience with external objects and Salesforce-to-Salesforce integrations preferred
- Comfort working in API-driven architectures (e.g., scheduling tools, external systems)
<>Collaboration & Leadership>
- Actively participate in design discussions and technical debates - discuss, decide, and move forward
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers
- Contribute to defining engineering standards, patterns, and reusable frameworks
- Support product planning and help decompose work into executable technical tasks
<>Learning & Continuous Improvement>
- Stay current with Salesforce and broader engineering trends
- Share new ideas, tools, and techniques with the team
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional coding experience
- 3-5+ years of experience in object-oriented programming outside Salesforce
- Examples: Java, C#, .NET, or similar
- Strong Salesforce engineering experience (Sales Cloud and/or Service Cloud)
- Advanced experience with Lightning Web Components (LWC)
- Strong integration experience using APIs
- Demonstrated ownership of testing (Apex + JavaScript testing)
- Hands-on experience with Git, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines
- Proven ability to analyze complex codebases and work effectively in ambiguous environments
- Salesforce Platform Developer II (PD II) certification
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Architecture-level experience
- Playwright or other modern UI testing tools
- Salesforce-to-Salesforce connector experience
- Experience contributing to engineering standards or platform frameworks
What Success Looks Like
- You operate as an engineer, not just a Salesforce specialist
- You write, test, deploy, and support your own code
- You are comfortable explaining every line of code you submit, regardless of whether AI tools were used
- You take initiative, speak up with informed opinions, and collaborate effectively
- You enjoy building high-quality systems and working with a team that values strong engineering discipline
